About Me

I'm a mother of 8, a former military wife, and a professionally trained birth and postpartum doula through Childbirth International.  I've had a fascination with and love for pregnancy, birth, and babies since I was a little girl.  I've always loved teaching, and spent several years as a middle and high school teacher before staying home with my children.  My years teaching and parenting and my training through CBI have made me a great listener and communicator.  I'm delighted to support women and their families as they prepare to welcome their new babies, and I'm especially passionate about helping first time parents navigate these new waters and make the transition to parenthood as smooth as possible.  A veteran of six VBACs myself, I also have a special place in my heart for mothers interested in this option.

I've had extremely varied birth experiences myself, and I know better than anyone that birth is unpredictable.  I have personal experience with:

  • Multiples and singletons

  • C-section

  • VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)

  • Preemies and term babies

  • Induction

  • NICU

  • Epidurals

  • Natural/unmedicated labor

  • Hypnobirthing

  • Prodromal labor

  • Healing from traumatic birth

  • Birth after miscarriage

  • Breastfeeding, pumping and formula feeding

Birth Doula +
Pregnancy Support

Experience personal prenatal support through text/phone, email and in-person meetings, and continuous emotional and physical support during active labor, birth, and the first postpartum weeks.  Let's prepare and plan for a birth that's safe and supported, no matter what path it takes.

Postpartum Doula

The postpartum period can be wonderful and exciting, but also exhausting and full of anxiety.  Let me help you learn to care for your new baby, answer your breastfeeding questions, and support you physically and emotionally as you recover from birth and begin life with your new addition.

 Breastfeeding Support

Beginning breastfeeding can be difficult in those early postpartum weeks.  I'm here to help with latching, learning your baby's cues, positioning, engorgement, and pumping.  With the right support, breastfeeding your new baby can be a beautiful, comfortable experience.

"Erin was there for me that night, when I felt like I had no one else.  It also really helped knowing she was familiar with what I was going through."
